College Graduation Party Rentals
Adult crowd, family in from out of town, and usually a backyard or a rented hall.
A college graduation party is an adult event with children in attendance, not a kids' party. Most rental advice for graduations is written for 18-year-olds; this crowd is 22 with parents, grandparents and nieces present.
Rent for adults first, then add one thing for the kids. And note that May graduation weekends are our tightest availability of the year — book in February or March.
What actually gets used
- Axe throw simulator. Foam and velcro, head-to-head, works with a drink in hand. The best single unit for a 20-something crowd.
- Velcro wall. Spectacle. Half the party will watch and half will try it, and both are good.
- Knockerballs. If you have the yard for it, this is what people will still be talking about.
- Mini golf. Genuinely the best thing on this list for grandparents and anyone who doesn't want to run.
- One bounce house for the younger family members, placed where parents can see it.
- Dunk tank with the graduate in it, weather permitting.
The 200 lb limit matters here
This is the event type where adults most often want on the equipment. Most units carry a 200 lb per-rider limit, and it applies regardless of how the party is going. Archery tag, the axe throw simulator, velcro wall and mini golf have the widest adult range — weight your rental toward those and you'll avoid disappointing people on the day. Our attendants also won't run intoxicated riders.
Backyard or venue
- Backyard: gate width 36 inches for a bounce house, 42 for a bigger game. Dedicated 20 amp outlet within 100 feet with nothing else on the breaker. Flat area with clearance on all sides. Watch for trees, power lines, pools, gutters and A/C units.
- Rented hall or venue: ballasted indoors, no floor damage. Ceiling height decides what fits, and the venue will likely want a certificate of insurance naming them — we provide it at 4.5% of the order for commercial locations.
- Park: permit required, generator per inflatable from us, and some parks prohibit inflatables entirely. Check the venue guides first.
Common questions
When should we book a May college graduation party?
February or March. May is our tightest month.
Can adults use the equipment?
Within the 200 lb per-rider limit. Axe throw, archery tag, velcro wall and mini golf are the most adult-friendly options.
Can you set up at a rented venue?
Yes. Ballasted indoors, and we'll provide the certificate of insurance the venue asks for — send us their required wording.
What if guests have been drinking?
Our attendants won't put intoxicated riders on equipment. Plan for that rather than being surprised by it.
