Bounce Houses at New Orleans City Park
Short version: you can't. Here's the rule, and here's where to go instead.
New Orleans City Park does not allow bounce houses. The park's official rules state that bounce houses, water slides and water-play structures are prohibited on City Park property. No rental company can legally set one up there — including us.
If a vendor tells you they can deliver an inflatable to City Park, they are either mistaken or willing to have your party shut down.

What City Park does allow
City Park is still a good place for a party — just not an inflatable one. Based on the park's published rules:
- Shelters can be rented for larger gatherings with a permit.
- Personal shade structures under 10' x 10' are fine without a permit. Anything larger, including tents, needs one.
- Amplified music requires a permit and is at the park's discretion.
- Bounce houses, water slides and water-play structures — prohibited.
- Gatherings over 75 people without a permit.
- Tents or structures of any kind erected without a permit.
Where to go instead
1. Audubon Park — allowed with a permit
Audubon Park permits bounce houses. You pull a permit from Audubon Nature Institute, we deliver. It's the closest true alternative to City Park for an uptown crowd.
2. Lafreniere Park, Metairie
Large pavilions, easy vehicle access, and a park we deliver to constantly.
3. Pontiff Playground, Metairie
Good for smaller kids' parties and neighborhood events.
4. Your own yard
Honestly the easiest option. No permit, no reservation window, no 5pm cutoff, no fee. If you have a flat area and a dedicated 20 amp outlet, we can set up.
Common questions
Can I get a permit for a bounce house at City Park?
No. The prohibition is a park rule, not a permitting matter. Permits at City Park cover gatherings over 75 people, tents and structures, and amplified music — not inflatables.
What about a small bounce house just for a birthday?
Size doesn't change the rule. The prohibition covers bounce houses, water slides and water-play structures generally.
Does this apply to Big Lake, the Peristyle, and Couturie Forest?
Those are all City Park property, so yes. If it sits inside City Park, the park's rules apply.
What does it cost to set up at a park that does allow inflatables?
Three things stack on top of the rental: a $35 park location fee, an additional insured certificate at 4.5% of the order (required for parks, commercial and school locations — and often exactly what the park needs to approve your permit), and a generator. Parks have no usable power, so a generator is required at every park setup, rented from us, one per inflatable, quoted with your order.
