A toddler bounce in Old Metairie and a 26-foot rock wall at a Kenner school fair are not the same product. Most backyard birthdays land between $225 and $400.

What is included in the rate, and what is not?

Included every time, no line item: delivery, setup, takedown, staking on grass or sandbag ballast on concrete, blower and cords, and a safety walkthrough.

Not included. You supply these:

• A dedicated 20-amp breaker per blower. Not a shared kitchen circuit. Two units, two circuits.
• A clear, level space with a path wide enough to roll a unit through. The gate is usually the problem, not the yard.
• A working water hose for any wet unit.
• An adult supervising the whole time it runs.

The mistake I see most often is a Mid-City host running two blowers off one outdoor outlet and tripping the breaker before noon.

Why is delivery a $150 minimum at a house and $500 at a park?

Because they are different jobs.

A residential drop in Metairie, Harahan, or Lakeview is a truck, two crew, and about 45 minutes on site. Your order has to reach $150 before we roll.

Parks and commercial venues carry a $500 minimum. That covers permit paperwork, the certificate of insurance the venue demands, the long carry from a parking lot to a field, generator staging where there is no power, and the crew hours a public site eats. City Park, Lafreniere, a church lot in Gretna — all $500.

Out-of-area fees apply past our core zone: Algiers Point, Westwego, Harvey, St. Rose, Destrehan, LaPlace, and the Northshore. Ask at booking so it lands on the quote, not the invoice.

How do deposits, rainchecks, and all-day rates work?

Deposits. $50 minimum on orders under $500, 25% on orders over $500. Non-refundable, but they convert to a raincheck for a future date, so no money evaporates when a squall wins.

All-day rates. We price by the day, not the hour. An hourly clock means a crew in your driveway watching a phone while a 4-year-old is still on the slide. Delivery falls between 8 a.m. and noon, pickup late afternoon. You get the whole party plus the slow part after cake.

Multi-day and weekends. A second consecutive day generally runs 50% of the first day's rate, and a Friday-to-Sunday festival weekend prices at roughly two days rather than three. Saturdays in March, April, and October sit at the top of every range.

Which add-ons actually change the number?

• Tables and chairs. Roughly $12 to $15 per six-foot table with chairs.
• Generator. Required at most parks and any yard short a dedicated 20-amp circuit. Plan on $85 to $150.
• Carnival games. Priced per game. Five to eight turns a school fair into an actual midway.
• Spin art. $100 for the first 50 cards, $60 per additional 50.
• Pucker Powder candy machine. From $200, covering 50 to 75 servings.

For a backyard birthday, one attraction plus tables and chairs is the right build. Two inflatables in a standard Kenner yard is one too many.
