Short answer: Grand opening event rentals in New Orleans work because an inflatable visible from the road stops cars a banner cannot. Budget the $500 commercial minimum, a dedicated 20-amp circuit per blower within 100 ft, sandbag ballast on concrete, and book 3–4 weeks out.
I have been doing this since 1992, much of it commercial. The openings that fill a lot are not the ones with the biggest sign budget. They are the ones that gave families a reason to pull in.
At a grand opening an inflatable is not decoration. It is the mechanism.
Why does an inflatable draw more people than a banner?
Because a kid in the back seat asks the parent to stop, and a banner never does that.
A 15-foot bounce house on a Veterans Boulevard lot or a Gretna strip center is visible from three lanes away. A feather flag is not.
You are not advertising to the driver. You are advertising to the six-year-old who controls the driver.
Signage announces. A bounce house interrupts.
Should I measure headcount or dwell time?
Dwell time. Headcount makes the recap deck look good and tells you nothing.
A family that grabs a flyer and leaves in 90 seconds heard nothing. One that stays 40 minutes walks the showroom, takes the tour, and talks to your staff twice.
Attractions buy those minutes. One inflatable holds a child about ten minutes, so stack options: a bounce unit, two or three carnival games, a foam machine on a schedule. Announce foam at 11:30 and 1:30 and families plan around it.
The money machine is lead capture. They grab at the air for ten seconds; you collect name, phone and email first.
What do grand opening event rentals cost on a commercial property?
Commercial and park delivery carries a $500 minimum, against $150 residential. Deposits are $50 under $500 and 25% over, and convert to a raincheck rather than a refund.
We are insured, and an additional-insured certificate runs 4.5% of the order. Request it at booking. Landlords almost always require one naming them, and issuing it takes days, not hours.
Staffed attendants and site visits are both available. On a commercial lot the site visit catches what nobody mentioned on the phone: the only outlet is in a locked suite, or the drive-through wraps where the slide was going.
What should I book for my type of business?
Footprint and customer age decide this, not price.
| Business type | Footprint | What I would book |
|---|---|---|
| Car dealership | Large lot, 100 ft+ | 26 ft rock wall or the 160-ft "Mardi Gras Mambo" course, plus a money machine |
| Restaurant or retail strip | Small, 20–30 ft pad | Toddler bouncer or combo, two or three carnival games, spin art |
| Gym or franchise | Medium, shared lot | Foam machine, money machine as the promo mechanic, one bounce unit |
A dealership in Metairie or Harahan has the rare luxury of space, so use it. A 160-ft obstacle course moves bodies fast.
A Mid-City restaurant with 25 feet of pad should not reach for a mega unit.
What has to be ready on the property before the truck arrives?
Most setup problems on commercial lots are property problems.
- Measure the pad and name the surface. Concrete gets sandbag ballast, grass gets staked, indoor gets weighted.
- Disclose concrete at booking. We load sandbags before leaving Kenner; finding out on site is how a unit does not go up.
- Confirm power. One dedicated 20-amp circuit per blower, within 100 ft. Shared circuits trip. Otherwise, a generator per inflatable.
- Check gate and path. 36 in clearance for a bounce house, 42 in for bigger games.
- Cordon the setup off from live traffic lanes and the drive-through.
- Get landlord sign-off and request the certificate naming the property owner.
- Locate water for wet units: a hose within 50 ft.
- Have a wind plan. We shut down above roughly 15 to 20 mph sustained.

When should I book grand opening event rentals in New Orleans?
Three to four weeks out, longer in October and May, our two busiest months. A Saturday in either can be gone six weeks ahead.
Weekend late morning through mid afternoon. Roughly 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when families are already running errands in Kenner, Marrero or Slidell and will route past you.
Weekday evenings draw a thinner crowd. If the point is families, take Saturday.
What is the mistake I see most often?
Booking one enormous attraction and nothing else.
The 26-foot rock wall is a real draw, and by 11:15 it is a 40-minute line of bored people. One attraction produces one line, and a line produces complaints, not dwell.
Spread the same budget across three or four stations and you get continuous movement and families who stay to hear the pitch. We can run 10 or more inflatables at one site; capacity is not the constraint. The booking decision is. See our corporate setups.
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle the additional-insured certificate my landlord requires? Yes. We are insured and can issue a certificate naming your landlord or property manager, at 4.5% of the order. Request it at booking, not the week of — issuing takes days, and most commercial properties will not allow setup without it.
Can you set up on a parking lot instead of grass? Concrete and asphalt are standard for commercial work. We ballast with sandbags instead of staking. Tell us the surface at booking so the sandbags are on the truck, and give us a pad measurement plus a path with 36 in of clearance.
How much power does a grand opening setup need? One dedicated 20-amp circuit per blower, within 100 feet of the unit. Shared or daisy-chained circuits trip and drop the inflatable. If your property cannot provide dedicated circuits, we supply generators at one generator per inflatable, the same as at parks.
What is the minimum order for a commercial grand opening? Commercial and park deliveries carry a $500 minimum, against $150 residential. Deposits are $50 on orders under $500 and 25% on orders over $500. If the date does not happen, the deposit converts to a raincheck rather than being refunded.
How far in advance should a business book? Three to four weeks for most dates, six or more for October and May. Earlier is better if you want a site visit, staffed attendants and the insurance certificate handled without compressing anything. References from past commercial openings are available on request.
