Spring Fling Rentals
The last big campus event before finals. Big, loud, outdoors, and usually on a quad.
Spring fling is a throughput problem disguised as a party. A few thousand students hit the quad in a four-hour window, and if you've rented three attractions you've built three very long lines.
Rent more units, not bigger ones. Give us expected attendance and open hours and we'll size the mix so people actually get a turn.
What a quad event needs
- Volume of fast units. Multiple medium attractions beat one giant one. Basketball games, axe throw simulator, velcro wall — short rounds, constant turnover.
- One anchor for the photos. The 26-foot rock wall or a big obstacle course. It's what ends up on social and it's what students remember booking.
- Knockerballs and zorb balls. Peak spring fling equipment. High spectacle, draws a crowd of watchers, and watchers are what makes a quad feel full.
- Water if your campus allows it. April and May in New Orleans is hot. A wet unit changes the whole event — but confirm campus water rules and hose access first.
- Add-ons that give something away. Spin art, pucker powder, stuff-a-bear with custom t-shirts branded to the school.
Spring is our tightest season
April and May collide with crawfish boil season and school field day season at the same time. A spring fling on an April or May Saturday should be booked by January or February. Student activities boards that decide in March are choosing from leftovers.
Quad logistics
- Power: quads rarely have usable outlets where you want units. Generators from us, one per inflatable.
- Surface: grass gets staked — and campus grounds crews usually want to mark irrigation and utility lines first. Ask them before we arrive.
- Access: we need a vehicle route to the setup area, 36 inches minimum clearance for a bounce house, 42 for a bigger game. Bollards and planters on quads are a common surprise.
- Insurance: certificate naming the university, 4.5% of the order. Start the risk management paperwork early.
Common questions
How many attractions for 2,000 students in four hours?
More than you think, and more units rather than bigger ones. Give us the numbers and we'll size it honestly.
When should we book spring fling?
January or February for an April or May date. Spring is the tightest availability we have.
Can we do water units on the quad?
If your campus allows water play and there's a hose within 50 feet of the setup spot. Confirm both before you plan around it.
Can you brand anything to the school?
Stuff-a-bear comes with custom t-shirts, and we can talk about branding on units for a large activation.
