High School Graduation Party Rentals
Backyard grad parties in May. Small yards, big guest lists, and a very tight calendar.
Graduation season in New Orleans is compressed into about three weekends in May, and it collides with field day season. That is the single tightest availability window we have all year.
If you know your date, book it. February or March is not too early for a May grad party. Families who call in April are picking from what nobody else took.
What works for a grad party
- Competition units, not bounce houses. Your guest of honor is 18. Knockerballs, axe throw simulator, archery tag, velcro wall. This is the age group most likely to be bored by a standard inflatable.
- Something for the younger cousins. Grad parties are family events — there will be six-year-olds. One bounce house keeps them out of the adult space.
- Water if it's late May. It's hot. A wet unit changes the whole party if your yard allows it.
- Mini golf or spin art for grandparents and the standing-around crowd.
- Dunk tank with the graduate in it, which is exactly as popular as it sounds.
Measure your yard first
Backyard grad parties are where we most often arrive to a space that doesn't fit what was booked. Before you choose a unit, check: gate width (36 inches for a bounce house, 42 for a bigger game), a flat area with a few feet of clearance on all sides, and a dedicated 20 amp outlet within 100 feet. Trees, power lines, sheds, pools, gutters and A/C units all limit the setup area. Call us and we'll talk it through before you book.
Backyard reality
- Power: each blower needs a dedicated 20 amp circuit. Nothing else on that breaker — and if you lose power because something else tripped it, we can't refund.
- Surface: grass gets staked, concrete gets sandbagged. Mark any underground water, power or gas lines before we arrive.
- Pets and yard prep. Secure pets, clean up the yard, turn off sprinklers.
- Supervision: one monitor per unit, 200 lb per rider. At an 18th-birthday-adjacent party with adults on equipment, that limit is the one that gets tested.
Common questions
When should we book a May graduation party?
February or March. May weekends are the tightest three weekends of our year.
What if our yard is small?
Tell us the dimensions and the gate width. There's usually something that fits — and we'd rather tell you honestly than show up and not fit through the gate.
Is a bounce house right for 18-year-olds?
Generally no. Competition units land much better for that age. Add one bounce house for younger cousins.
What if it rains?
Cancel at least two days before for a raincheck good three months, usable once. Inside two days, payments are forfeited.
