Open house, meet-the-teacher, welcome night. Get families to actually show up.
Attendance is the whole point of a back-to-school event, and an inflatable in front of the school is the cheapest attendance driver there is. Parents come for the paperwork; kids come because there's a slide.
These are usually short events — two hours on a weeknight in August. One or two units is plenty. Book 3 to 4 weeks out; August is our second-busiest month.
What fits a two-hour weeknight event
- One visible unit out front. A bounce house or slide near the entrance does more for turnout than anything on your flyer.
- A game with no queue. Basketball games and spin art keep younger siblings busy while parents do forms.
- Skip the big anchor. A rock wall is a great fall-festival buy and a poor open-house buy — too slow for a two-hour window.
August in New Orleans
It is going to be brutally hot. If your event runs before sunset, put units in shade or on the shaded side of the building, and tell us so we plan the layout around it. A wet unit is an option if your campus allows water — ask us and we'll tell you what's realistic for your surface.
The practical stuff
- Power: dedicated 20 amp circuit per blower, within 100 feet. No usable outlet where you want it? We rent generators, one per inflatable.
- Access: 36 inches of gate clearance for a bounce house, 42 for a bigger game.
- Insurance: certificate naming your school at 4.5% of the order. Send us the district's required wording.
- Supervision: one monitor per unit. Attendants available if you'd rather not pull a teacher.
Common questions
How far ahead should we book a back-to-school night?
Three to four weeks. August fills up fast because every school in the parish is doing the same thing in the same two weeks.
Can you set up on concrete or a covered walkway?
Yes. Concrete setups use sandbags instead of stakes. Covered areas work if there's enough vertical clearance — that's what the site visit is for.
How quickly can you set up and tear down?
We schedule setup before your start time and pick up either at your end time or the next morning depending on our route. We'll confirm by text.
