School Christmas & Holiday Party Rentals
December in New Orleans is a coin flip. Plan for indoors and you can't lose.
The weather is the whole problem with a December school party. It's 75 degrees one year and 38 with rain the next, and you're committing to a date in October.
The fix is planning around a gym or covered space from the start, not treating indoors as the backup. We ballast rather than stake, so indoor setups are straightforward. Book 4 to 6 weeks out.
What works indoors
- Standard bounce houses and combo units. They fit most gym ceilings and move kids fast.
- Obstacle courses. Long rather than tall — usually the best use of a gym floor.
- Carnival and interactive games. Basketball games, axe throw simulator, velcro wall. Low ceiling requirement, high engagement.
- Spin art, pucker powder and stuff-a-bear with custom t-shirts. These turn a party into something kids take home — and stuff-a-bear is a strong fit for a holiday party specifically.
Check ceiling height before you fall in love with a unit
The 26-foot rock wall and the tallest slides don't fit in most school gyms. Tell us the space when you call and we'll only quote you things that actually fit — that's what the site visit is for.
If you do go outdoors
- A cold snap is more likely to cancel your event than rain is. Have an indoor fallback space identified before the day.
- Cancel with us at least two days out and everything paid becomes a raincheck, good for three months.
- Wet units are a bad December call in Louisiana even on a warm day.
The practical stuff
- Power: dedicated 20 amp circuit per blower within 100 feet. Gyms usually have this; fields don't, and we rent generators one per inflatable.
- Access: 36 inches for a bounce house, 42 for a bigger game.
- Insurance: certificate naming your school at 4.5% of the order.
- Supervision: one monitor per unit, 200 lb per rider, socks on and shoes off.
Common questions
Will inflatables fit in our gym?
Many will, some won't. Ceiling height is the deciding factor. We check it on a site visit before you commit to anything.
Is it too cold for a bounce house in December?
The equipment is fine. The kids are the issue. Below about 50 degrees, an outdoor inflatable party stops being fun — plan indoors.
When should we book a December event?
Four to six weeks out. December is lighter than October for us, so you have more flexibility, but gym-friendly units are limited.
