Summer 2026 was one of the busiest seasons Bounce World has had. We added two new waterslides to the fleet, leaned hard into summer camp and weekly contract rentals, and finished the season wayyy ahead of 2025 mostly! Here's an honest breakdown of what we rented, what our great customers asked for and what we're looking to change for next season.
What new waterslides did Bounce World add in 2026?
We added two new slides this season. The headliner was the 20' Hawaiian Splash Dual Lane — 20 feet tall, 37 feet long, 15 feet wide, with two racing lanes and a splash pool at the bottom. It was easily the strongest waterslide we've bought in years: it books fast, it handles a long line of kids without bottlenecking, and the dual-lane racing format keeps a party moving instead of stalling at the ladder. The 2nd big addition was the 18' Beach Vibes which really stood out with its huge sunglasses.
Why dual lane waterslides outperformed single lane rentals
A single lane slide moves roughly one rider at a time; a dual lane moves two, which cuts wait time nearly in half. For events with 30 or more kids, summer camps, church groups, school field days, that difference is huge. Parents notice fewer meltdowns in line, and camp directors notice they can rotate groups on a schedule. If you're choosing between the two, the rule of thumb we give customers is: under 20 kids, a single lane is fine; over 20, go dual lane.
Summer camps were the story of the season
Our biggest growth came from summer camps and recurring weekly contracts. Camps don't want a one-off rental, they want the same slide, the same delivery window, every week, from a company that shows up. We picked up several new camp clients in 2026 specifically because they'd been let down by unreliable delivery elsewhere.
What camp directors consistently asked about: on-time weekly delivery, clean and sanitized units, proof of insurance, setup that doesn't interrupt programming, and a single point of contact for scheduling changes. Those are the things we built the season around, and it's why the camp side grew while other segments softened.
Did private party rentals decline in 2026?
Slightly, yes. We saw a modest dip in private backyard party bookings compared to 2025, even though the season was stronger overall. We think it's a mix of three things: tighter discretionary spending, more families traveling during peak summer weekends, and more competition in the New Orleans rental market. No single factor explains it, and we'd rather say that plainly than guess.
The takeaway isn't that private parties are going away, it's that they're more price- and date-sensitive than they used to be. Booking early and booking mid-season weekends is where families got the best availability this year.
When is the best time to book a waterslide in New Orleans?
Peak demand runs from Memorial Day through mid-August, and Saturdays in June book out first. Camps and weekly contracts should be locked in during February through April for the following summer. Private parties should book three to four weeks ahead for a peak Saturday, and one to two weeks ahead for a weekday or late season date. September and early October are still warm in South Louisiana and are the most underrated weeks of the year for a waterslide.
What we're changing for 2027
The market told us a few clear things this season. We're expanding the recurring weekly and camp-contract side of the business, since that's where demand is strongest and most reliable. We're adding more dual-lane and high-capacity units rather than more single-lane slides. And we're rethinking our private-party packages to be a better value for smaller backyard events.
