Insurance & Certificates

If a venue has ever asked you for "a COI naming us as additional insured," this page is the whole answer.

The short answer

Bounce World carries $1,000,000 per occurrence general liability coverage, and we can issue a certificate of insurance (COI) naming your school, church, park, HOA, apartment complex or venue as certificate holder and additional insured. Tell us the exact legal name of the venue when you book and we will get it issued. Most venues need it in hand a week or more before the event.

What a certificate of insurance actually is

A COI is a one-page document from our insurance carrier that proves the policy exists, states the coverage limits, and names your venue on it. It is not a contract and it does not cost you anything to request. Venues ask for it because it means that if something goes wrong on their property, our policy responds — not theirs.

Two terms get confused constantly:

Ask your venue which they require. If they say "both," that is normal and we can do both.

Give us this and it goes fast

To issue a certificate we need:

  • The exact legal name of the entity to be named — "St. Somebody Catholic Church, Inc." not "the church."
  • Their mailing address as they want it to appear.
  • Whether they need certificate holder, additional insured, or both.
  • The event date and address.
  • Any special wording the venue requires — some contracts specify it verbatim.

Get us this at booking rather than the week of. Certificates take time to issue, and a venue that does not have it on file can turn a truck away at the gate.

What insurance does not do

Worth saying plainly: a policy is what stands behind the equipment when something goes wrong. It is not a substitute for the things that stop it going wrong in the first place — proper anchoring, certified operators, equipment that meets ASTM F2374, and an adult actually watching the unit. Any company that leads with "we're insured" and cannot answer a question about anchoring has the order backwards.

Also: our coverage does not remove the renter's responsibility to supervise riders, enforce the rider rules, and shut the unit down in high wind. Those obligations stay with whoever is running the party. See before you book for what that involves.

Frequently asked

Is Bounce World insured?

Yes — $1,000,000 per occurrence in general liability coverage, with the ability to name your venue as an additional insured.

How do I get a certificate of insurance for my venue?

Request it when you book. Give us the venue's exact legal name, mailing address, whether they need certificate holder or additional insured status, and any required wording. Allow at least a week before your event.

Does a bounce house company have to be insured in Louisiana?

Louisiana law requires owners of inflatable amusement devices to register each device with the state fire marshal and to submit a copy of the general liability insurance listing those devices. Ask any company you are considering for proof of coverage — a company that cannot produce a certificate quickly is a company you should not book.

Can you name my school and the district on the same certificate?

Yes. Multiple named parties on one certificate is routine — just send us all of the exact legal names.
